Introduction: The weight of a nickname
Often, I was called JB instead of Jean-Baptiste. Nicknames are generally considered friendlier and cuter, emanating a good feeling. Yet, every time I heard JB, I felt a subtle wound, an embarrassment that I couldn’t explain. Despite my discomfort, I said nothing, accepting this nickname without really embracing it. The hidden power of the language of birds is often underestimated, but as I discovered, they can have a profound impact on our identity and emotional well-being.
The Revelation of the Language of Birds
The discovery of the language of birds was a turning point for me. This language, similar to a game, sometimes reveals a hidden meaning through sounds. It opened my eyes, or rather my ears, allowing me to hear things differently. In this language, we no longer rely on the written word but on cries, on sung words, much like birds who bring words to life through their songs.
An example of language of the birds
This phrase plays on the sound-alike nature of “real eyes,” “realize,” and “real lies.” On a deeper level, it suggests that those who are truly perceptive (real eyes) can discern the truth (realize) from falsehoods (real lies).
JB or GIBET
A Realization From this perspective, ‘JB’ can transform into ‘GIBET’ in French, a word evoking a gallows for the condemned. Ironically, the throat chakra has long been my weak point. The day I truly became aware of the resonance between JB and GIBET, a shiver ran down my spine.
The Choice of a Name
An Affirmation of Self The saying “Who loves well, punishes well” takes on its full meaning here. From now on, I prefer to be called Jean-Baptiste, Jean, or even Yohanan (see Quest for Yohanan: Origins and Renewal) names that, I believe, carry energy and meaning more aligned with my being.
Nickname and Personal Identity
And you, how do you name your loved ones? Words are not mere sound vibrations; they are laden with energies, shaping reality in their own way. Before opting for diminutives or nicknames, it’s crucial to reflect on the energy they convey. Our first names are not assigned at random; they seem to give direction, an impulse to our life. So, let’s choose them with care and consciousness, to honor not only our identity but also our journey in this world.”
