There are times in life when everything seems to fall apart, pushing us towards an unwanted but perhaps necessary reset. A few days ago, such an event forced me to wipe the slate clean (Read the post). An experience that was both shattering and strangely liberating, I now find myself on the threshold of a new beginning, with a fresh perspective and renewed motivation.
An impromptu clean-up
When we choose to do a reset, we enter a phase of drastic sorting, ridding our space of everything that no longer has a reason to exist. Whether it’s material objects like clothes and books, or the virtual content cluttering up our hard drive. I began this process with the idea of keeping only the essential, keeping on my computer only what had a direct link with Pravaha, my aromatic elixir company.
In an almost premonitory act, I transferred all my files to an external hard drive, even deleting the content saved on the cloud, planning to sort it all out when I got back. But, contrary to my usual practice, I didn’t create a back-up copy. I left the hard drive in a vulnerable place, and today I find myself having to start from scratch, losing decades of accumulated data.
A tried and tested philosophy of life
During this re-evaluation stage, I return to a philosophy I adopted nine years ago, during my trip around the world: maintain only what meets an immediate and concrete need. At the time, I managed to condense the essentials of my life into a 50-litre backpack, and since then I’ve kept a clear vision of what’s really necessary. This philosophy, which has proved valid in all circumstances, is now helping me to navigate through this period of loss and renewal.
A brutal but necessary awakening
However, this forced reset deprived me of more than just digital files. My collection of elixirs, once proudly displayed on shelves, has been wiped out, leaving behind an expanse of broken glass and shattered memories. I find myself in a precarious situation, with no fixed abode and no defined occupation.
But in the midst of all this chaos, I was presented with a unique opportunity to re-evaluate what really matters in life. A precious moment to reflect deeply on my path and the choices open to me. Should I stay in England? Should I continue the Pravaha adventure? etc. It’s a time to make conscious choices.
This complete reset, albeit involuntary, somehow aligns with the original mission of this blog: to take stock of ourselves, and embrace an energetic rebirth. Just like the story of a simple cup of tea to welcome something new into my life, I first have to make room.
But what about you? Have you ever had such an experience of loss and renewal? Have you taken the time to take stock of your life in such circumstances?
I invite you to share your experiences and reflections as we explore together the opportunities and lessons that a complete reset can offer.
Long live the Complete Reset and a rebirth filled with serenity and new, flourishing energies.
